The Muskoka Lakes Public Library is due for upgrades to its operating system. While these upgrades are taking place, June 23 and 24, the library will be closed. The catalogue and account information will not be available during this time. The after-hours book drop will be available for returns.
Many exciting programs and activities have been planned for the next couple of months. All are posted on the webpage www.muskoka.com/library on the events page. First in the line-up happens tomorrow, June 16, after school. Children in JK to grade 4 are invited to join teachers Amy and Lindsay for a special Father’s Day creative hour from 4:30 to 5:30. On July 7 Rock the library! Introduce yourself to the latest fitness craze with personal trainer/kinesiologist Chelsey Peatling. Zumba combines Latin and International music with a fun and effective workout system. This introduction to Zumba is for participants 14+ and will be held after hours at the upper level of the library. FREE but space is limited so please pre-register.
Art Classes Children from ages 8 to 12 are invited to challenge their creative potential this summer on Thursdays under the artistic guidance of artist and children's book illustrator, Nancy Gray Ogle. $20 Pre-register with the artist at 705-764-0212.
Get ready to dive headfirst into the chosen theme for this year's TD Summer Reading Club, Splash! Celebrate summer at the library. Kids, 12 and under, who register with the local library for the TD Summer Reading Club receive a poster, stickers and an activity book all free as a part of their reading kit. July 2-August 27
Kniterary Don't knit alone! Share patterns, get inspiration, discuss your latest project, or venture into book discussions at the Muskoka Lakes Public Library. Enjoy conversation and have fun! Knitters and other needlecrafters at all levels welcome. Just bring your supplies and get knitting! Thursdays 1:00pm.
Saturday July 16 from 10:00-12:00 adults are invited to a Native drum-making workshop sponsored by Friends of Muskoka Lakes Public Library. $135 Pre-register at the library.
